The Thai Arboriculture Association was established to develop tree management standards and develop knowledge of arboriculture in Thailand, sharing the knowledge and understanding for the benefit of the public and exchanging ideas between organizations related to standards and professional arboriculture. Also helping to promote Thai arboriculture to be more well-known and lead to a stable career path of arborists who will take care of the big trees in Thailand and keep them healthy as they can be. Participating in the international tree climbing competition will elevate the potential of Thai arboriculture and build a network of world-class tree care experts that will benefit tree management standards in Thailand.

Arborists and Tree worker Climber is not yet widespread. Both government agencies and non-governmental organizations are not serious about holding positions and officials who work as arborist and tree worker climber. Therefore, there must be a push for both the public sector and the policy sector that can effectively access solutions to problems. Tree worker climbers in Thailand did not work on safety, from climbing trees without safety gears, trimming using hand saws or chainsaws on trees regardless of safety. As a result, Thailand ranks among the world's most incidences of work accidents using chainsaws.

Tree climbing championships are events which provide excellent training and practices in tree climbing skills for experienced arborists and tree workers so that they can advance their work standards,, learn from international climbers and apply the competition skills to their tree management work and to become well competent trainers. The championships are also public events that help others learn more about this profession and inspire more people to enter the industry which can use a lot more manpower especially in Thailand.

Winners of Thailand Tree Climbing Championship can participate in the international events.
