What is Socialgiver?

Socialgiver is an award-winning social enterprise that fundraises for causes you care about through selling GiveCards pledged by some of Thailand’s most prominent brands on our online platform: www.socialgiver.com. So we can offer you a better lifestyle while helping you change the world one experience at a time.

Socialgiver helps consumers, businesses and social projects work together to create positive social impact. The online platform brings you hand-picked experiences from leading brands at exclusive rates. These experiences include luxurious hotels, restaurants and fun activities. Not only do these amazing brands give you the best rates available, but they’ll give every baht you spend toward creating impact and sustainability for causes you care about most. For example, you can book a hotel room at the best rate for your next vacation and choose to have that money put underprivileged children through school!

What is a GiveCard?

A GiveCard is a digital gift voucher given from our business partners (hotels, restaurants, activities, and events) that can be redeemed at the business’ site or at the event. GiveCards can be bought for yourself or for friends, family and loved ones as gift during a special occasion.

How can I become a member?

You can become a part of Socialgiver’s giving ecosystem through 2 ways:

(1) Click on “Join our community” in the homepage and fill in your personal information.

(2) Click “Join” the top right corner of the website and fill in your personal information.

Purchase & GiveCards Redemption

How do I redeem the GiveCard at hotels / restaurants / activities / events?

Once you have purchased our GiveCard on our website, you will receive a notification email with GiveCard code, something like this: 127-9026-WX. Which you can print on paper or bring the mobile version to show to the staff at the hotel / restaurant / activity / event.

Where can I see my GiveCards?

You can view it under your Socialgiver account. Click on the Account Icon in the top right corner, and choose “My GiveCards” tab. Additionally, the GiveCards are sent directly to the email that you registered with the website, immediately after a purchased is confirmed in our system.

What are the different payment options?

Currently we accept payment options for all major credit cards. For debit cards, we accept from only Krung Thai Bank (KTB), Kasikorn Bank (KBank), Bangkok Bangkok (BBL) and Siam Commercial Bank (SCB).

Is it safe to use my credit card for online purchases?

Yes, it’s safe. Socialgiver chooses to use the safest payment gateway in Asia. Thus, you can be ensured that your information is confidential as we have limited access to your details. The secured information is directed to the payment gateway.

How can I know if I have a successful transaction?

A transaction is completed if a customer receives a confirmation email and the GiveCard is reflected on the customer’s account.

What if my credit card was charged and there is no GiveCard found on my account?

First, coordinate with the bank if you were charged. Once confirmed, contact us at hello@socialgiver.com, Line@ account “@socialgiver” or call us at 062-458-2626.

If the products / services available on Socialgiver is for giving back to the projects, does this mean the prices quoted include a premium and are more expensive than the market rate?

Our products / services on Socialgiver are volunteered by our partnered businesses with the strong intention to give back to the society. Thus, they are willing to give it at the best rate available. If it doesn’t, contact us and we will compensate you for the difference. Or for a restaurant, it will be a special deal that you cannot get anywhere else.

Can I purchase a GiveCard as a gift to a friend or a family member?

Of course, you can! In fact, we encourage you to spread the happiness forward by inviting your loved ones to be a part of a giving community and creating real changes for our society.

What is a discount code?

A special code that gives you additional discounts from the total price of the basket - either as an absolute value (e.g. 100 Baht discount) or percentage value (e.g. 15% discount).

Does Socialgiver facilitate reservations or booking for consumers?

No, currently we do not do the bookings for consumers. We ask for you to contact the hotel / restaurant to directly do the booking.

Projects

How does Socialgiver choose the projects to fundraise?

A project can join Socialgiver automatically if:

(1) Project has applied for & has been short listed with Resource Alliance for Thailand NGO award. or

(2) Project has been rated by Give Back Association (charity rating agency) and received at least 3 stars rating for the combined financial and governance evaluation.

If a project does not qualify for the 2 criteria above, then:

(i) Project is deemed interesting by the Socialgiver team and is a supporting a cause that is not yet available on the Socialgiver website - will be eligible for fundraising with Socialgiver for 1 level on a trial basis. To be eligible for level 2+, project but qualify for point (1) and (2) above.

(ii) Project must be requested by Socialgiver's business partner - will be eligible for fundraising with Socialgiver for 2 levels on a trial basis. To be eligible for level 3+, project but qualify for point (1) and (2) above.

What are levels in fundraising?

Projects fundraised on Socialgiver in levels with goals in multiple of 50,000 Baht. The first round of fundraising has the goal of 50,000 Baht. The second round of fundraising has the increased goal of 100,000 Baht. The third round, 150,000 Baht; The fourth round, 200,000 Baht; and so on.

Once the project achieved that level, the project will then unlock the fund to create positive social / environmental impact, which will be updated on the Project’s Activity pages so you can keep up with what the project is up to.

Other

Can I get a personal tax deduction from spending on the website?

Since many of the social projects we support are small to medium-sized organizations that are not registered as a foundation. Thus, they cannot issue a tax receipt for your personal tax deduction. Nevertheless, Socialgiver will be auditing and updating the project’s activities and the usage of funds raised on our website.

What do businesses get out of joining Socialgiver?

Our partnered businesses are businesses who are willing to give back to the society through their service. It is a way for the businesses to do CSR or Corporate Social Responsibility.
